Your project, our new challenge...
PROLAT GOES TO EXARCHEIA!
Exarcheia, one of the most fascinating historical districts of the Greek capital, is famous not only for its lively, insubordinate character and its rebellious aura, but also for its authenticity, its various hangouts of artists, students and intellectuals and its architectural diversity, reflected in old neoclassical mansions, bohemian corners, houses and little shops reminding of old Athens. It was in such a picturesque little house that the intervention of PROLAT was needed. LavaPlaster was applied to the staircase and quartz mosaic to the yard. It is worth noting that PROLAT quartz mosaic can literally transform a balcony or a yard into a particularly tasteful and pleasant space; and, what is more, it is wear resistant, does not require maintenance and possesses anti-slip properties. This is how an old building may be converted into a modern, functional and attractive residence.
PROLAT GOES TO KALYMNOS!
Kalymnos, the fourth largest island of the Dodecanese, which is inextricably linked with the rich Greek maritime tradition and sponge diving, is also a popular alternative tourism destination thanks to its landscape diversity and geomorphology. This is the idyllic natural environment where the house shown in these photos was built –a house that respects both nature and the needs of modern life. PROLAT stone mortar, which has been used here, is a bioclimatic product with natural ingredients that allows the building to “breathe”, while at the same time ensuring a fascinating aesthetic result. PROLAT natural paints that have been used both on interior and exterior walls have contributed decisively to this result. And what is more, although this impressive house is by the sea, there are no signs of wear, as the above materials are particularly resistant to all sorts of weather conditions, as well as to salty sea air and humidity. PROLAT has added the final touch applying LAVAPLASTER to the bathrooms and exterior steps, thus creating a functional and pleasant residence in perfect harmony with the beautiful nature that surrounds it.
PROLAT GOES TO TYROS
The picturesque village of Tyros, situated among the fjords of the lacy coastline of Eastern Peloponnese, charms every visitor with its peaceful scenic beauty and crystal clear waters. There, perched on the plateau of a steep slope, Villa Melana faces the enormity of the open horizon. The complex, an architectural creation of Valia Foufa and Panagiotis Papassotiriou, consists of three distinct volumes and is clad in Arcadian stone, thus blending perfectly with its natural surroundings. PROLAT has had a double contribution to the particularly attractive final result, coating the interior spaces of the villa with Lavaplaster and applying quartz mosaic to all exterior surfaces, especially around the infinity pool that looks like a natural extension of the sea. Quartz mosaic by PROLAT, which is 100% anti-slip and extremely resistant, is an ideal solution for the areas around swimming pools and all exterior spaces in general. And it is available in a variety of colours ensuring colour harmony and balance, which is one of the most important elements of a tasteful, relaxing and, most of all, pleasant environment.
PROLAT GOES TO SYROS!
On the captivating island of Syros, the “Lady of the Aegean”, where Cycladic culture coexists with medieval charm and neoclassical elegance, you often have the impression that time has stopped and you are back in the days of the Venetians and the pirates. This is why, when constructing a new building, one has a great responsibility: to be faithful to the tradition and the aristocratic aura that have characterized this unique architectural environment for centuries. This spacious and functional country house, built on a smooth hillside with an unlimited view of the sea, thanks to its natural building materials and its discreet colours seems to be a natural part of the serene landscape that surrounds it. PROLAT had the ideal solution for the exterior surfaces: quartz mosaic, a material that is known to exhibit an outstanding mechanical strength, does not require maintenance and is available in a rich variety of colours. PROLAT has contributed creatively to the interior of this impressive house as well, with an original and very practical Betocore table that has a concrete appearance and texture, but is very light and easy to move. Its minimalistic design and mild colour shades add a modern touch to the room and are particularly restful to the eye. The final result offers what we all desperately need both in our everyday life and when we are on holiday: class, comfort and peace.
