Summer is almost here and we are already making holiday plans and dreaming of escaping to some magical Aegean island… We close our eyes and our senses are flooded with dazzling colours and sunlight, the taste of the sea and the murmur of the waves. This year let’s let the fresh meltemi wind take us to a very special Cycladic island, Folegandros.
On the southernmost island of the west Cyclades, built on an amphitheatrical slope facing the Aegean Sea, the Chora with its picturesque narrow cobblestone streets and the Church of the Virgin Mary perched on a rock, lies the complex ‘Alkyon Villas’. It consists of five villas constructed with traditional methods and based on the principles of bioclimatic design that combine harmoniously local raw materials with the most modern and resistant construction materials. The latter were provided by PROLAT: coloured stone mortar, plaster with kourasani, and of course Lavaplaster for floors, walls, stone-built sofas and beds.
The aesthetically pleasant and highly resistant materials of PROLAT blend perfectly with the wild beauty of the Cycladic natural environment and contribute to the creation of a serene and relaxed atmosphere that we all need for our holidays!
